President Muhammadu Buhari Vows To Work In Close Contact With Nation’s Traditional Institutions In Making Nigeria Great….

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the new Emir of Bichi in Kano State, to exhibit good leadership qualities by emulating his father the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, in promoting peace, unity and tranquility throughout his reign.
He made the call in his congratulatory message-sent to the Emir, on his coronation as the second emir of Bichi,on Saturday.
President Buhari was represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, also an uncle to the emir.
He said “Your father, my late friend, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, may his soul rest in peace, was a symbol of unity, not only within the kingdom, but also in the entire Northern Nigeria and the country in general.
“I am confident that you will exhibit such leadership qualities and much more.
“As I continue to pray for your success, I look forward to your contributions in uplifting people of this emirate in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
“I wish to assure you of my support to leave a legacy,” he said.
President Buhari said, traditional institutions are veritable tools in reaching the grassroots and therefore, their importance cannot be overemphasized.
The President said he has no doubt that Emir Nasiru Ado Bayero’s reign will improve commerce and industry in the Bichi Emirate and the entire Kano State.
Also speaking, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar III, urged traditional rulers to continue to assist government at all levels, to improve the living condition of Nigerians.
He commended the Kano state government for creating four additional emirates, which would assist in bringing more developments to the grassroot.
He also urged Nigerians to intensify efforts in praying for the country and its leaders.
