Emir of Jiwa, FCT Abuja drums support for unity in diversity, tolerance irrespective of differences

Dr. Idris Musa, the Emir of Jiwa, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, unity and tolerance for peaceful co-existence irrespective of ethnic, tribe and religious background.
The Emir was speaking shortly after his Chieftaincy Investiture and Turbaning Ceremony held at Government Secondary School, Jiwa, an event that was part of his 17th anniversary on the throne and 66th birthday celebrations.
“I am now 66 years and today is my 17th year on the throne; so I have every reason to thank God and thank my people who gathered here to celebrate with me despite all differences”
“You can see the mammouth crowd that trooped out to witness the historic event; I think this propelled a great symbol of unity and togetherness among our people”
“I am indeed honoured, and highly grateful for your love and loyalty. May Almighty Allah reward you abundantly.
The Emir then underscored the importance of unity among any progressive society, saying that without unity, there will be no meaningful development.
He noted that traditional rulers always champion the course of provision of adequate security of people in their domains, therefore the need to accord them that loyalty and respect while reporting any suspicious movement for prompt action.
Musa urged people of the Emirate to always be their brothers’ keepers and learn to tolerate each other irrespective of differences.
“I called on all FCT indigenes and other Nigerians living in our midst to embrace peace and live with one another in mutual respect and understand for rapid development of the area.
Also while representing the Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Sa’ad Abubakar at the 5th international conference on “Love and Tolerance: Countering Violent Extremism for Peaceful Coexistence” in Abuja, the Monarch also stressed the importance of peace as variable tool for any progress.
Musa, said the high level of insecurity challenges can be solved if Nigerians put an end to discontentment and sinful lives.
The Emir urged Nigerians to always abide by the rule of law and live harmoniously with other members of society for peaceful coexistence.
“I thank the UFUK Foundation for trying to unite the world to become one and love each other.
“Today, we are in a situation that most of us do not love each other. This is wrong, we are created in the same way and we are brothers, no matter the situation and religion”
