The Excellent Madakin Bichi

Madakin Bichi, Kano State.

Born on 10th July 1957 into the family of late Madakin Kano, yola ward, Kano State. Alh. Nura Shehu Ahmad was brought up in Yola ward, Kano like any other growing Muslim child. In 1960, Madakin Bichi was enrolled into the Islamic and Quranic schools situated at Madakin Kano residence when he was 3 years old alongside other growing up children as family members, which mostly are brothers, cousins and nephews, together with neighbors and those that came from far and near. Later Madaki was enrolled into Shahuci Primary school in the year 1964, also attended ST Louis Primary school in the year 1967, up to the school completion in the year 1969.

The Madakin Bichi was in Rumfa College for Secondary education between 1970 – 1974. After his secondary school education, Madaki was opportuned to study English and French in the United Kingdom, at Prestigious college “DANE END HOUSE BARTON MILLS SUFFOLK” between 1974 – 1977.

Madakin Bichi began his working carrier at Abdullahi Wase Hospital Kano, formerly Nassarawa Hospital immediately he returned from UK in the year 1977, and served in the hospital up to 1978 before he was posted to Office of the Secretary of Kano State Government, cabinet office where he served between 1978 – 1979. Madaki then returned to School for higher education, he studied Diploma in Management in Kaduna Polytechnic between 1979 – 1981. After his return from gaining additional qualification, he was posted to Kano State Ministry of information where he served between 1981 – 1982. Between 1982 – 1998, Madakin Bichi worked in Kano State office of Head of Service and also returned to UK for Chartered Management course certificate, later returned to B.U.K for Advanced Diploma on legal studies.

In the year 1984 after the demise of his late father, the late Emir of Kano turbaned Madaki as Danmadamin Kano, which he reigned for 33 years as Danmadami, before he was elevated to Magajin Rafin Kano by Emir of Kano Muham’madu Sanusi in the year 2017. And later became 1st Madakin Bichi when Bichi Emirate was created and was Turbaned on 3rd August 2020.

Madakin Bichi, Alh. Nura Shehu Ahmad who has over 39 years in the services of Royalty held so many positions like that of Security, Awareness, Religious, Environmental and Health ETC. He did well in standardising alot of things in the above listed positions and committees. Madaki is happily married with children and grand children. His hobbies are traveling, reading, peace loving and horse riding.
