Brief about Walin Kano Mahe

Alhaji Mahe Bashir Wali, former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police was appointed Walin Kano by Sarkin Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero. He was born in 1937. He attended Kofar Kudu Elementary School, Kano Middle School, School for Arabic Studies, Institute of Administration Ahmadu Bello University, and the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru. He served as Kano Native Authority Police Chief (Wakilin Doka) before he transferred his services to the Nigeria Police Force.
He served in Kaduna before his promotion to Assistant Commissioner of Police and he was posted to Lagos. In 1976 he was transferred to Kano as Deputy Commissioner of Police and then later promoted to Commissioner of Police.
He served as Commissioner of Police in Kano, Borno, Adamawa and Sokoto States before his promotion to the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police. He retired in 1990 and was appointed Walin Kano and Councilor Finance, Kano Emirate Council, by Sarkin Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero in 1990.
