SULTAN HELD MEETING WITH COMMISSIONER OF POLICE SOKOTO STATE AND THE ENTIRE DISTRICT HEADS
Eminence royalty magazine international learnt about the development in the security architecture of Sokoto State following recent attacks on several villages within the state precisely during last eidel fitr.
A week after eidel fitr after the attack, Sokoto State Governor paid a special and emergency visit to Mr. President and the resolution made the President summoned service cheifs and immediately deployed Air personnel to Sokoto under the leadership of cheif of air staff.
Following the recent occurrences in the state, in the same vein Sultan Muhd Sa’ad Abubakar hosted commissioner of police Sokoto, CP Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje and 89 district heads to discuss on community policing at his palace.
The Sultan empersised that community policing is of paramount importance to Sokoto communities, owing to what is currently happening.
He reminded them that covid-19 is real, there is need to continue taking drastic measures to curtail its spread in the society.
On the community policing initiatives that was launched in Gwadabawa local government, the mornach said youth of good characters should be selected for recruitment.
The Sultan who said politics should be kept aside while selecting the deserving unemployed youth, urged the district heads to liaise with Divisional Police Officers in their local governments for the success of the programme.
Responding, the commissioner of police Sokoto State, CP Ibrahim Sani
Ka’oje said Inspector General of Police and president Buhari held security meeting and directed restoration of community policing to forestall insecurity in the country.
CP Ka’oje said the idea behind fully involving district heads, was to have youth that are of good character for the recruitment. CP Ka’oje also said 10,000 youth will be selected and trained every month for the exercise.
The commissioner finally appreciated the maximum cooperation the command enjoys from the Sultanate Council particularly on the issue of insecurity when ever they come calling, and urged it to keep it up.
